A rope is `25 1/2` m long. How many pieces, `1 1/2` each of length can be cut out from it?

Solution

Total length of the rope = `25 1/2`m = `51/2` m

Length of each piece = `1 1/2` m = `3/2` m

∴ No. of pieces = `51/2 div 3/2 = 51/2 xx 2/3 = 17` pieces
