A shopkeeper in Indore sells 20 identical articles for ₹450 each. Find the amount of bill if he gives a 20% discount and then charges GST = 28%
Solution
Given:
- Price per article = ₹450,
- Number of articles = 20,
- Discount = 20%
- GST = 28%
Step 1: Total price before discount
Total price = 450 × 20 = ₹9000.
Step 2: Apply 20%20\%20% discount
Discount amount `= 9000xx20/100= ₹1800`
Price after discount = 9000 − 1800 = ₹7200.
Step 3: Add 28% GST
GST amount = `7200xx28/100 = ₹2016`
Final price = 7200 + 2016
= ₹9216.
