Fill in the Blanks

Solution

A wholeseller allows a 25% trade discount and a 5% cash discount The net price of an article marked at ₹ 1,600 is  ₹ 1140.

Explanation:

25% trade discount on ₹ 1600.

= `25/100 xx 1600`

= ₹ 400

Invoice Price = 1600 – 400 = ₹ 1200

5% cash discount on invoice price.

= 5% × 1200

∴ Net price = 1600 – (400 + 60)
