These days, it is all too typical to witness adults who are completely engrossed in their careers, striving for financial gain and success, frequently at the price of their children. This concerning pattern makes me think of the Maharaja from the tale "The Tiger King," who devoted all of his time and energy to hunting tigers, leaving no time for his own crown prince. As a licensed professional counselor, I strongly advise working parents to make quality time with their kids a priority. I support my argument with examples from "The Tiger King" story.

Spending time with children can have a significant impact on their growth and well-being, making it more than just a luxury. If children are not given the right guidance, they may end up on the wrong pathways in life. Because of the Maharaj's disregard for his crown prince, the prince in the narrative felt ignored and unimportant, which made him feel inadequate and insecure. Similarly, emotional gaps and strained connections can arise when parents put their work ahead of their kids' attention.

Working parents should balance their roles as parents and their professional obligations, in my opinion. Children are also able to maintain cordial connections and have greater faith in their parents as a result. Parents may foster strong, resilient connections and provide their kids the love, support, and direction they need to succeed by making time for them a priority.
