Barbara Fredrickson outlines the Broaden and Build theory of good emotions as a means to be more open to positive things in our lives. For example, when we're in a good mood, we want to interact and meet new people. This expands our social and psychological resources. Positive emotions increase the number of actions we can consider performing. These behaviors strengthen our psychological resources, thereby improving our well-being.
