Question
Answer the following question in about 100 – 120 words.
The people and surroundings are a great book to learn from. Valli in the lesson ‘Madam Rides the Bus’ learns a lot from others. Mention the traits of her character which help her to learn from people and her surroundings.
Solution
Valli used to listen to her neighbours talk about the bus ride, and she dreamed of riding on it. Her desire to realise her ambition sparked her interest. This curiosity drove her to listen to people's talks on the bus and ask inquiries about their experiences on the bus to acquire information about the voyage. Valli acted firmly and maturely while on the bus. She did not regard herself to be any less of an adult. She was concentrated on achieving her ambition and was not convinced to leave the bus. She was very careful and investigated the town when the bus arrived. She was saddened on the return to the journey when she learned of a cow's death. This made her realise that death is a normal occurrence and should be accepted as such. Thus, the bus ride taught her a lot of things.
