Question
Avnish spends 70% of his income. From the balance amount, he donates ₹ 1000 to an orphanage. He is then left with ₹ 8,000. Find his income.
Options
₹ 60,000
₹ 50,000
₹ 40,000
₹ 30,000
Solution
₹ 30,000
Explanation:
Let Avnish's income be ₹ A.
Then, Amount spent= 70% × A
= `70/100 xx A`
Remanung balance = `A - 70/100 xx A`
= `(30 A)/100`
Amount donated to orphanage = ₹ 1000
And Remaining balance = ₹ 8000
So, `(30 A)/100 - 1000` = 8000
⇒ `(30 A)/100` = 9000
⇒ A = `(9000 xx 100)/30` = 30000
Thus, his income is ₹ 30,000.
