Question
Calculate the momentum of a toy car of mass 200 g moving with a speed of 5 m/s.
Solution
We know that:
Momentum = mass × velocity
= m × v
Here, mass, m = 200 g
or m = 0.2 kg
And, velocity, v = 5 m/s
Putting these values in the above formula, we get:
Momentum = 0.2 × 5 kg.m/s = 1 kg.m/s.
