Question
Calculate the distance covered by the Ultrasonic wave having a velocity of 1.5 kms-1 in 14 s, when it is received after reflection by the receiver of the SONAR.
Numerical
Solution
For an echo to occur
Wave velocity = `(2("distance"))/"time"`
1500 = `(2("distance"))/14`
∴ distance = (1500 × 7)
= 10500 m
∴ Distance covered by ultrasonic wave is 10500 m.
