Chlorine in the Periodic Table is surrounded by the elements with atomic number 9, 16, 18 and 35.
Which of these have Physical and Chemical properties resembling chlorine?
Solution
Fluorine and chlorine have atomic numbers 9 and 35, respectively as both are halogens. They belong to the same group 17 and have seven electrons in their valence shell. The valency is 1. Both elements are non-metallic.
