Question

Convert the following angles into radian:

65°30′

Sum

Solution

We know that, 180° = πc

∴ 1° = `(pi/180)^"c"`

65°30′ = 65° + 30'

= `65 + ((30)/60)^circ     ...[because 1"'" = (1/60)^circ]`

= `65^circ + (1/2)^circ`

= `(65 + 1/2)^circ`

= `(131/2)^circ`

= `(131/2 xx pi/180)^"c"`

= `((131pi)/360)^"c"`
