In the global era, there are some issues related to environmental degradation which have been further considered global issues and considerably fall within the scope of contemporary world politics. These issues are as follows:
- Depletion of Natural Resources:- Throughout the world, cultivable area is barely expanding anymore and a substantial portion of existing agricultural land is losing fertility.
- Losses of Biodiversity:- Natural forests that help to stabilise the climate, moderate water supplies and harbour majority of the planet’s biodiversity are being cut down. This is resulting in people and rich species being displaced.
- Depletion of Ozone:- A steady decline in the total amount of ozone in the Earth’s stratosphere poses a real danger to ecosystems and human health.
