Question
Describe the male reproductive systems in humans.
Answer in Brief
Solution
Organs of the male reproductive system in humans are:
- A pair of testes present outside the body in a sac-like structure called scrotum. They produce male gametes or sperms.
- Epididymis: Stores sperms.
- Vas deferens: It is the sperm duct through which . sperms leave the testes and reach the penis..
- Penis: It is used for injecting sperms inside the female body.
- Testes: A pair of testes, mesodermal in origin, are formed in the lower abdominal cavity. They are located in a pouch called the scrotum. During early foetal life, the testes develop in abdominal cavity and later they descend into the scrotal sac through a passage called inguinal canal. Each testis is oval in shape, 4 to 5cm long, 2 to 3cm wide and 3cm thick.
