  Parasite Saprotroph
1. A parasite is an organism that grows on the body of another organism and derives nutrients from it. The organism that obtains nutrients from dead or decaying organic matter is called a saprotroph.
2. The Organism on Which it feeds is called the host. They do not feed on a living organism.
3. Examples of parasites are Cuscuta and orchids. Examples of saprotrophs are fungi and some bacteria.
4. Parasites usually live on or inside the body of the host. Saprophytes live on dead and decaying matter.
