Yes, a cell is a building unit of an organism. The body of an organism is made up of various organ systems like the digestive system, reproductive system etc. The organ systems are made up of various organs which in turn are made up of tissues. A tissue is a group of cells performing the same function. Hence, a cell is the basic building unit (or structural unit) of an organism. It can be represented as:
