1. Magnetic separation is the separation of the concentration of ores that have some metallic properties. Cassiterite is a tin ore. It contains mainly the non-magnetic ingredient stannic oxide (SnO₂) and the magnetic ingredient ferrous tungstate (FeWO₄). These are separated by the electromagnetic method.
2. Wilfley table method and hydraulic separation method can also be used for this purpose.
3. Froth floatation method
