`(- 5)/1+ (-5)/8 + (5)/(12)`
`= (- 5 xx 24)/(1 xx 24) + (-5 xx 3)/(8 xx 3) + (5 xx 2)/(12 xx 2)`
(∵ L.C.M. of 1, 8 and 12 = 24)
`= (- 120)/24 + (-15)/24 + (10)/24`
` = (- 120 - 15 + 10)/24 = (- 125)/24`
