Question
Explain overtones.
Explain
Solution
Overtones are frequencies higher than the fundamental frequency that are actually present in a given sound. The first frequency above the fundamental is called the first overtone, the next is the second overtone, and so on. Overtones may or may not be harmonics, depending on whether they are exact integer multiples of the fundamental frequency.
