Sufism proved very helpful in bringing the gap between the followers of Hinduism and Islam and encouraged the feeling of Hindu-Muslim unity to a considerable extent in the following ways:

  1. Sufism preached religious tolerance, brotherhood, and oneness of God. Inspite of the different rules of various religions, the ultimate aim is to reach God.
  2. Equality and brotherhood of all human beings irrespective of caste, colour, creed, and religion.
  3. Sufism believed in the unity of all religions because every religion points out the ultimate aim to reach the God and get his blessings.
