Very Long Answer

Solution

After the giant allows the children back into his garden, happiness returns. The trees bloom, the birds sing, and Spring finally enters the garden. However, the little boy the giant once helped disappears, and the giant longs to see him again.

Years pass. The giant grows old and weak. One winter morning, he sees the little boy again, standing beneath a tree. The boy has wounds on his hands and feet. The giant is filled with joy and asks the boy who hurt him. The child replies gently that these are the wounds of love and tells the giant he has come to take him to his garden, which is Paradise.

Later that day, the other children find the giant lying dead under the tree, covered in white blossoms — a symbol of peace and salvation.
