Question
Find the median of the following data (1-8)
15, 6, 16, 8, 22, 21, 9, 18, 25
Solution
Given numbers are 15, 6, 16, 8, 22, 21, 9, 18, 25
Arrange in increasing order
6, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 21, 22, 25
n = 9 (odd)
∴ Median = `((n+1)/2)^(th) value = ((9+1)/2)^(th) value`
= `5^(th) value`
= 16
