Question

Find the minimum energy of neutron confined to a nucleus of size of the order of 10-14m. Given mass of neutron = 1.675×10-27kg

Short Note

Solution

Given data :- L=10-14 m
Formula :- En=n2(h28ml2).(n=1,2,3..)
Solution :- En=n2(h28mL2)=(6.63×10-34)×(6.63×10-34)8×1.67×10-27×(10-14)2 ........(n = 1)
E1=3.29×10-13J
Lower energy = 3.29×10-13
