Solution
Area of given figure
= Area of rectangle ABCH + Area + Area of square DEFG
= AB x BC + (DE)2
= 8cm x 3cm + (3cm)2
= 24cm2 + 9cm2
= 33cm2
Perimeter of given figure
= AB + BC + CD + DE + EF + FG + GH + HA
= AB + BC + (CD + EF + GH) + DE + FG + HA
= 8 + 3 + 8 + 3 + 3 + 3
= 28cm.
