Question

Find the discount percentage in the folllowing :
M.P. = Rs.6840, S.P. = Rs.5814

Sum

Solution

M.P. = Rs.6840, S.P. = Rs.5814

`"S.P."/"M.P." = 1 - "discount"/(100)`

⇒ `(5814)/(6840) = 1 - "D"/(100)`

⇒ `"D"/(100) = 1 - (5814)/(6840)`

⇒ D = `(1026)/(6840) xx 100`
= 15
∴ Discount = 15%.
