Question

Find the length of a second's pendulum at a place where g = 10 m s-2 (Take π = 3.14)

Sum

Solution

Given, g = 10 m/s2 and time period (T) = 2 s

Let 'l' be the length of the seconds' pendulum.

We know that `"T" = 2pisqrt(l/"g")`

⇒ `2 = 2pisqrt(l/10)`

⇒ `l/10 =1/pi^2`

⇒ `l = 10/(3.14)^2`

⇒ l = 1.0142 m
