(a) Given, `4/3 xx 3/4`
∵ Product of rational numbers = `"Product of numerators"/"Product of denominators"`
= `(4 xx 3)/(3 xx 4)`
= `12/12`
= 1
(b) Similarly, `(-3)/2 xx (-2)/3 = ((-3) xx (-2))/(2 xx 3) = 6/6` = 1
(c) `2/1 xx 1/2 = (2 xx 1)/(1 xx 2) = 2/2` = 1
(d) `-1/3 xx 3/1 = ((-1) xx 3)/(3 xx 1) = (-3)/3` = –1
Since, the value of first three option are 1 but the value of option fourth is –1. Hence option `(-1)/3 xx 3/1` is odd out.
