Question
Find the selling price of a watch bought for Rs.4050 and sold at a loss of 14%.
Solution
C.P. of the watch = Rs.4050
Loss = 14%
`"S.P."/"C.P." = 1 - "Loss"/(100)`
⇒ `"S.P."/(4050) = 1 - (14)/(100)`
⇒ `"S.P."/(4050) = (100 - 14)/(100)`
⇒ S.P. = `(86)/(100) xx 4050`
= Rs.3483
