Question

Find the S.P. in the following:
M.P. =Rs. 5500, Discount = 30%

Sum

Solution

M.P. =Rs. 5500, Discount = 30%
Discount % = `("discount"/"M.P." xx 100)`

⇒ 30 = `("discount"/5500 xx 100)`

⇒ `(30 xx 5500)/(100)` = discount
⇒ discount = Rs.1650
S.P. = M.P. - discount
= Rs.5500 - Rs.1650
= Rs.3850
Hence, the S.P. is Rs.3850.
