Given, x = (100)1 – 4 ÷ (100)0
⇒ x = (100)–3 ÷ (100)0
⇒ x = (100)–3 – 0 ...[∵ am ÷ an = (a)m – n]
⇒ x = (100)–3
So, x–3 = [(100)–3]–3 = (100)9 ...[∵ (am)n = (a)mn]
