Question
Find the value of k for which the given simultaneous equations have infinitely many solutions:
kx + 4y = 10;
3x + 2y = 5.
Solution
The given equations are
kx + 4y = 10 ……(i)
and 3x + 2y = 5............(ii)
multiply equation (ii) by 2
`2(3x + 2y )= 2xx5`
`6x+4y=10`..........(iii)
from comparing equation (i) and (iii)
k=6
