In the figure,
∵ Lines are parallel
∴ ∠1 + 4x = 180° .........(co-interior angles)
But ∠1 = x ........(vertically opposite angles)
∴ x + 4x = 180°
⇒ 5x = 180°
⇒ x =`(180°)/5` = 36°
Hence x = 36°
