Question

For 100 km, a taxi charges ₹ 1,800. How much will it charge for a journey of 120 km?

Sum

Solution

Let a charge of a car is ₹ x in 120 km

Distance in(km) 1800 x
Taxi charges (₹) 100 120

Since it is the case of direct variation

`⇒"x"_1/"y"_1="x"_2/"y"_2`

`⇒1800/100xx"x"/120`

⇒ 100x = 1800 × 120

`"x"=(1800xx120)/100`

= ₹2160
