Question

Gather more information about the following from your Science textbook, the internet, and other sources.

View of the sky when you are on the moon.

Short Answer

Solution

  1. On the Moon, the sky appears completely black, even during the day! This is because the Moon doesn’t have an atmosphere to scatter sunlight like Earth does.
  2. Earth's View: If you look up from the Moon’s surface, you can see Earth shining brightly in the sky. Earth looks much bigger than the way we see the Moon from Earth.
  3. Stars and Sun: Stars are visible even when the Sun is out because there is no atmosphere to block or scatter the light.
  4. No Twinkling: Stars don’t twinkle as they do from Earth because twinkling is caused by Earth’s atmosphere. On the Moon, they appear steady. Chandrayaan Mission of India.
