Question
Give a reason for the following:
IDL deviates and goes zig-zag near some Islands in the Pacific ocean.
Solution
IDL is not a straight line, but it deviates in order to classify some scattered Islands in a particular division of Hemispheres so that the day and time can be calculated according to the line, as the natural position of the Islands is haphazard.
