The aluminium article is used as an anode in the anodizing process.
Solution
In the anodizing process, the aluminium object is immersed in a dilute acid with electrolytic reduction as a positive electrode. When the current is started, hydrogen gas is released near the negative terminal and oxygen gas is released near the positive terminal. A layer of hydrated aluminium oxide is deposited on the aluminium substrate by reacting with oxygen. In this way, anodizing pans, cookers and cooking utensils can be produced.
