Give an estimate of the Vellore Revolt of 1806.

The Vellore Revolt failed because there was no immediate help from outside. According to recent studies, the organizing part of the revolt was done perfectly by Subedars Sheik Adam and Sheik Hamid and Jamedar Sheik Hussain of the 2nd Battalion of the 23^rd Regiment. Vellore revolt had all the forebodings of the Great Rebellion of 1857. The only difference was that there was no civil rebellion following the mutiny.
