1. The testes originate in the lumbar region of the abdominal cavity immediately below the kidney throughout early foetal life, but during the seventh month of development, they descend permanently into the respective scrotal sacs via a tube known as the inguinal canal.
2.  A temperature lower than the body temperature is required for sperm formation.
3. Sperm generation is not possible if the testes stay in the abdominal cavity.
4. This could lead to impotency. As a result, the testes are situated outside of the body cavity.
