Question
Give reason:
The type of occupation determines a person’s income.
Give Reasons
Solution
- The income of a person depends on the type of skills required for the job. Therefore, a person with higher skills has a higher income.
- Primary occupations include activities such as fishing, animal husbandry, etc. Such activities require lesser skills. Thus, they receive less income.
- Secondary occupations include processing of the products obtained from nature, which is an industrial activity and hence requires higher skills than those required for primary occupations.
- Tertiary occupations like transportation, communication, etc. provide complementary services to the primary and secondary occupations. Such occupations require greater technical and organizational skills.
- Quaternary occupations such as testing the quality of goods, performing research on several products, etc. provide support to all the other occupations.
- A person must have special skills to perform quaternary occupations.
- Thus, different occupations require different levels of skills. Hence, the income of the person will be different for different occupations.
Therefore, the type of occupation determines a person’s income.
