Question

Holmes, Dr. Watson and Mary Morstan reached at the third pillar of the Lyceum Theatre. Describe the state of mind of the trio.

Short Note

Solution

As the trio approached the third pillar from the left outside the Lyceum theatre, they were in a mixed state of mind. The dull heavy evening, the environment at the Lyceum theatre and also the strange purpose for which they had arrived, had made Dr. Watson and Mary Morstan feel a little nervous and depressed. But Sherlock Holmes remained unaffected by these petty influences and concentrated on the work at hand. He was focussed in jotting down figures and memoranda in his small note-book in the light of his pocket-lantern.
