It is divided into six major climatic zones. They are.
1. Arid and semi-arid climate:

1. Northern & Southern Africa
2. Rainfall – scanty Tropical Savanna Climate:
3. 100-200 latitude or either side of the equator
4. The tropical wet and dry climate
5. Equatorial climate
6. The equatorial region is near the congo basin and east African highlands.
7. Temperature and rainfall are high.

2. Temperature Climate:

1. The southern tip of southern Africa.
2. Climate Equable
3. Mediterranean Climate
4. Northwestern and Southwestern tip of Africa.
5. Gets rainfall in winter while in summer it is hot and dry.

3. Tropical Monsoon Climate:

1. Eastern shore of Africa.
2. Summer is hot with monsoon winds bringing good rainfall winter is cool and dry.
