Since q is the mean proportional between p and r

q2=pr

L.H.S = p3+q3+r3p2q2r2

=p3+(pr)q+r3p3r3

=1r3+qp2r2+1p3

=1r3+q(q2)2+1p3

=1r3+1q3+1p3

= R.H.S
