Question

If x = 1, y = 2 and z = 5, find the value of x3 − y3− z3

Sum

Solution

x3 − y3− z3

Substituting x = 1, y = 2 and z = 5 in the given expression:
x3 − y3− z

= (1)3 − (2)3 − (5)3

= (1 × 1 × 1) − (2 × 2 × 2) − (5 × 5 × 5)

= 1 − 8 − 125

= 1 − 133

= −132
