Out of these 28,200 seats were for the students of General Category while 7,400 seats were reserved for SC and 3,700 seats for ST. Find the percentage of seats available for students of General Category.

Given that, the total no. of seats available were 49,000

Seats for General category were 28,200

For SC were 7,400 and for ST were 3,700

The percentage of seats available for students of general category

= `"Seats of general category"/"Total seats available" xx 100`%

= `28200/49000 xx 100%`

= 57.55%
