Question
In the following equations, verify if the given value is a solution of the equation: `2(1)/(2)x + 3(1)/(2)x` = 56 - 2x; x = 7
Sum
Solution
`2(1)/(2)x + 3(1)/(2)x` = 56 - 2x; x = 7
Simplifying, we get
⇒ `(5)/(2)x + (7)/(2)x` = 56 - 2x
⇒ `(12)/(2)x + 2x` = 56
⇒ 8x = 56
⇒ x = 7
Put x = 7 in above gives, L.H.S. = R.H.S.
Thus, x = 7 is a solution of the equation `2(1)/(2)x + 3(1)/(2)x` = 56 - 2x; x = 7.
