CD || EF         ...(2) is given;

From equations (1) and (2) we get that

AB || EF         ...(3)

∴ x = z         ...(4) Alternate angles

Now, let y = 3k and z = 7k

AB || CD is given;

∴ x + y = 180°       ...(sum of interior angles on same side)

or z + y = 180°

⇒ 7k + 3k = 180°

⇒ 10k = 180°

⇒ k = 18°

Since x = z From equation (4)

∴ x = 7k

x = 7 × 18°

x = 126°
