Cortisol is a steroid that controls inflammatory responses. This hormone is produced by the adrenal cortex. Cortisol is one of the corticoids produced by the adrenal gland. Cortisol influences or modulates many of the physiological changes that occur in response to stress, as well as increasing RBC creation.
