Question
List in proper sequence the steps of the experiment for determining the approximate focal length of a given concave mirror by obtaining the image of a distant object.
Solution
(i) Fix the concave mirror on the stand and place it on table facing towards a distant object.
(ii) Arrange the screen on the table so that the image of the distant object is obtained on it.
(iii) Measure the distance between the mirror and the screen using a metre scale. This distance is the focal length (F) of the mirror.
