(ii) Objectives of united nations organization are:
- To maintain international peace and security.
- To develop friendly relations among nations to achieve international corporation.
(iii) Functions of the General Assembly are:
- The deliberative function which states that the general assembly may discuss any question relating to peace and security.
- The supervisory function which states that the general assembly regulates the working of other organs and agencies of a united nation.
- The financial function which states that the general assembly considers and approve the budget of a united nation.
(iv) The Security Council is composed of fifteen UN member States, five of which are permanent members - China, France, Britain, Russia, and the United States of America. There are ten non-permanent members which are elected by the general assembly by 2/3 majority for a term of 2 years.
