(ii) Objectives of united nations organization are:

  1. To maintain international peace and security.
  2. To develop friendly relations among nations to achieve international corporation.

(iii) Functions of the General Assembly are:

  1. The deliberative function which states that the general assembly may discuss any question relating to peace and security.
  2. The supervisory function which states that the general assembly regulates the working of other organs and agencies of a united nation.
  3. The financial function which states that the general assembly considers and approve the budget of a united nation.

(iv) The Security Council is composed of fifteen UN member States, five of which are permanent members - China, France, Britain, Russia, and the United States of America. There are ten non-permanent members which are elected by the general assembly by 2/3 majority for a term of 2 years.
