Three factors affecting inland water transport are :
- The rivers and canals should have a regular flow of sufficient water.
- Due to the silting of the river bed, the depth of water is reduced and hence creates a problem for navigation. Also, the desilting of the river bed is costly.
- If in the river course there are waterfalls and sharp bends there is an obstruction in the development of waterways.
