Mention three measures undertaken towards privatisation in India.

1. The number of industries exclusively reserved for the public sector has been reduced from 17 to 8. Now this number is further reduced to 2.
2. The policy of disinvestment has been adopted. Under this policy, government sells its equity in PSUs to private enterprises.
3. The policy of denationalisation in some cases was also adopted. Modern Foods India, Videsh Sanchar Nigam, Maruti Udyog Ltd are examples of denationalisation.
